About Us

At Cayman Cigar Company, we believe in the art of handcrafting premium cigars and giving back to our communities.
Our company operates in a spirit of social-entrepreneurship, with 100% of all net profits generated from cigar sales benefiting local and international communities.

The Birth of “Philanthro-Capitalism”

Cayman Cigar Company began with the combined vision of two friends, John Lemuel “Lem” Hurlston and Granger Haugh. While serving together as board members of local charities, Granger and Lem proposed a “for-profit/non-profit” business model that would help charitable organizations while making some of the world’s most exclusive cigars. They call their shared concept of innovation, entrepreneurship and social responsibility “Philanthro-Capitalism.”

Premium Cigars

Our cigars are made using the highest-quality Caribbean tobacco and hand-rolled by Cuban native Master Cigar Rollers. At the heart of every one of our cigars is the Cayman Islands spirit of innovation, positivity, and cooperation that sets us apart.

We offer a collection of premium cigars to fit any taste, from silky and refined to rich and bold. Whether you are a curious first-timer or a true cigar aficionado, we have a collection sure to excite your palate and add to your cigar experience.

We often hear that Cayman cigars are the most similar cigars to Cubans that they have ever smoked. At Cayman Cigar Company, we strive not to create the next-best thing to Cuban cigars, but the next-best cigar period.

A Company that Gives Back

We are proud to be the world’s only premium cigar company to donate 100% of net profits to charity. Every dollar we don’t use to roll cigars goes back to local and international charitable organizations, from creating entrepreneurial opportunities for marginalized populations to supporting the self-sufficiency of those in addiction recovery and providing specialized assistance to U.S. veterans.

When you smoke a Cayman cigar, you’ll enjoy all the satisfaction of a hand-rolled premium product while also improving and enhancing the life of others around the globe.

Master Cigar Roller

“I feel like I was born into this world of cigars, and the smell of tobacco. You know, my first memories are of my mother and grandmother, both of whom worked in cigar factories in Cuba. I remember playing in big fields of tobacco, asking questions about farming tobacco and rolling cigars back when I was about four years old.”

Barbara never forgot those early days in Cuba. Working her way through school and University, she felt a calling from her childhood, guiding her back to the world of cigars. “I feel like I never left my love of cigars, and I’m so happy I returned to the traditions I love, making what I think are the best cigars in the world.” After completing University, Barbara went to work immediately as an apprentice roller, under the careful direction of a Torcedoro, or Master Roller, in her native Cuba. Upon completing this multi-year process, Barbara now brings her vast knowledge and expertise to Cayman Cigar Company, handcrafting some of the world’s best boutique, premium cigars.

Maria Delvis

Master Cigar Roller

Born in Cuba, Maria Hernandez comes to Cayman Cigar Company with over twenty years of rolling experience. Taking her first steps through the front doors of Cuban cigar maker Partagas in 1997, Maria found her passion in the handcrafting of premium cigars. “After visiting all the departments at the factory, I realized I was most excited about actually making cigars. Nothing is more exciting to me than seeing how many different tobacco blends go into different cigars. I enjoy it very much!”

Maria joined Cayman Cigar Company in 2019. “Coming to Cayman Cigar Company is something wonderful and humanitarian for me. I never imagined my position as a Torcedora (Master Roller) could help so many people.” Working under the tutelage of Torcedoros in her native Cuba, Maria learned all the components of hand rolling premium cigars and brings an eye for detail and a passion for creating some of the best cigars in the world.
